Carboplatin is a widely used anticancer drug, and, like most chemotherapeutic agents, it causes mucositis, diarrhea, bloating, and weight loss in almost all patients. These side effects are not only systemic but also local. Carboplatin increases the abundance of Prevotella copri in the gut, which is positively correlated with intestinal mucositis.
