Morphine is an opioid drug with highly addictive properties. Isorhynchophylline is a traditional Chinese medicine that is commonly used to reverse alpha and beta diversity caused by morphine. Its thought that the microbiota-gut-brain axis plays an important role in this action so in this study they try to disturb the microbiota compositions with antibiotics. it was found that the ameliorative effects of isorhynchophylline on morphine addiction were lost.
