increase bioavailability
The gut microbiota plays a role in hesperidin bioavailability. It can convert non-absorbable hesperidin to hesperitin (a molecule that can be freely absorbed by the intestine) by the action of enzymatic deglycosylation (α-rhamnosidase and β-glucosidase).
